In heathrow
I got an email last night from CX, notifying me the cancellation of my original flight.
They were going to reschedule us to he same flight tomorrow but I then told them that I won't be able arrive hk on time for my own wedding. I tried to get seats on a late afternoon flight today but was told the flight was so full and even waiting list for stand by was closed. I tried my best to convince him that I indeed need arrive hk by Wednesday noon. Then he agreed to put me on standby list for tomorrow noon flight.
10 mins after I hung up the phone they called me back. And told me they've successfully put us on a late afternoon flight today!!! We should be arriving hk on tue at around 1, even 4 hours earlier than our original schedule.
I don't know the reason but I guess the volcanic ash may have affected connecting flights from other parts of the world so some people simply can't get on this flight as planned.
It means my wedding probably doesn't need to deferred again.
Am queueing up for check in now in heathrow. Will be back in less than 24 hours!!!! :)
